Posted: 6:44 PM- Utah football coach Kyle Whittingham announced Sunday he is promoting inside linebackers coach Kalani Sitake to defensive coordinator, replacing Gary Andersen, who is leaving the Utes to become the head coach at Utah State.
Andersen will continue to coach the Utes' defense through their bowl game, when they face Alabama in the Sugar Bowl at New Orleans on Jan. 2.
