Posted: 1:10:14 PM- The national board of the Delta Delta Delta sorority is asking a judge to force its University of Utah chapter to dissolve and hand over their house.
A lawsuit filed Tuesday by the sorority in 3rd District Court says its Theta Phi chapter - which has been on the U.'s campus since 1932 and has owned a house on Greek Row since 1939 - has refused to convey its house title to Delta Delta Delta.
The complaint asks Judge Anthony B. Quinn to dissolve Theta Phi House Corp. and to require the chapter to turn over the house.
The sorority's National Executive Board told the chapter in May it planned to revoke its charter due to recurring problems with recruitment and strained finances and leadership, according to school officials.
The Tri-Delts are the U.'s smallest sorority, with just under 30 members.
