Summit County hopefuls narrow

Democrats Cindy LoPicolo and Ken Jones will face off in a June 27 primary for the Summit County clerk's seat.

Incumbent County Clerk Sue Follett was eliminated at last week's Democratic convention.

No Republican is seeking the office. Kathy Dopp is running on the Desert Green Party ticket and will appear on the Nov. 7 ballot.

In another Democratic primary runoff, Ron Perry will challenge incumbent Barbara Kresser for the county assessor's post. The winner will face Republican Gene Lambert in November.

Incumbent County Commissioners Bob Richer and Ken Woolstenhulme emerged from the Democratic convention. Richer will face Republican Bill Miles in November. Woolstenhulme will go unchallenged by Republicans for a second term. Democrats again nomi- nated incumbent County Auditor Blake Frazier and incumbent County Recorder Alan Spriggs for their respective offices. Both will run unopposed in November.

On the Republican side, County Attorney David Brickey and County Treasurer Glen Thompson will appear on November's ballot unchallenged by Democrats.

Republican Sheriff Dave Edmunds emerged from the convention and will be unopposed in November. Democratic challenger Scott Mark pulled out of the race Monday.
