The Salt Lake City Council will be on tour again this week, meeting in the west side's Poplar Grove area for its work session Thursday. The council will convene at the Pioneer Police Precinct, 1040 W. 700 South, in council District 2 at 7 p.m. Up to a half-hour will be devoted to public comment, though individual comments are limited to two minutes. Later that night, the council will receive an update on the progress of a District 2 project - the Sorenson Unity Center, which will be built next to the Sorenson Multi-Purpose Center, 855 W. California Ave. (1330 South), as part of the resolution of the Main Street Plaza lawsuit. The council also will interview Chris Burbank, who has been nominated to replace retiring Police Chief Rick Dinse. The council is expected to approve Burbank's appointment Thursday. Dinse retires March 31. Throughout the year, the council will meet in each of the city's seven districts. It already met in District 1. - Heather May
