This is the Place Foundation has elected Ellis Ivory as chairman of its board of trustees. Ivory, the founder of Ivory Homes, succeeds Randon Wilson, chairman since 2000. Wilson will remain a member of the board and its executive committee.

In his new position, Ivory will advance a proposed joint venture between This is the Place Heritage Park and Hogle Zoo, which are across Sunnyside Avenue from each other at about 2500 East in Salt Lake City.

No specific plans have yet been drawn, but the venture would aim to combine the unique attributes of both sites.

Ivory has previously worked on the project as a zoo board member.
