Members of the Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable kicked off Utah's 2006 Interfaith Week on Monday. The week is meant to celebrate the state's diversity and foster understanding between faith communities. The theme for this year's events: "Celebrating our Spiritualities." The Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable was created in 1999 by the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Their initial mission was to fulfill a charter to provide religious services to athletes, but once formed, the group voted to keep the spirit alive.
