Possible Laundromat Sales Tax Ahead

Kelsie Despain, of Sugar House, folds laundry at her neighborhood Laundromat. Utah lawmakers have signed off on legislation that would charge sales tax at Laundromats and carwashes where attendants help customers. Under HB51, coin-operated washers and dryers, like those here at Highland Coin Laundry, would not be taxed. Video arcades also would be exempt.
