A white 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by James Carter, a gang member who attempted to run over two Taylorsville police officers early Friday, was found parked in the 800 East block of Red Sage Lane late Friday night. But Carter was not found. Just after midnight Friday, officers spotted 31-year-old Carter in a passenger seat of the SUV. They initiated a traffic stop at 1300 E. 5000 South, but he shoved the driver out of his seat and slammed into the officers' patrol car. No one was injured. As Carter drove away, one of the officers fired six rounds at him. Police are unsure if he was hit. Carter, who also goes by "Stylz," is a member of the 808 gang who is wanted on a parole violation. He is 6-foot-1, 210 pounds and has numerous tattoos on his arms and legs. He is considered extremely dangerous. Anyone with information about Carter should call 911. - Lisa Rosetta
