The governor has appointed Deputy Carbon County Attorney George M. Harmond Jr. to the 7th District Court, which covers Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties. The State Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee is seeking public comment on the appointment. Harmond must be confirmed into office by the Senate. Anyone who would like to comment on Harmond should contact Jerry D. Howe at the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, Utah State Capitol Complex, W210 House Building, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84114-5210, by 5 p.m. on Dec. 23.
