PROVO - Incumbent Lewis Billings is outpacing challenger Dave Bailey when it comes to campaign money in Provo's mayoral race. According to campaign financial disclosures filed Tuesday, Billings has raked in $64,425 in cash contributions for his re-election bid, while Bailey has raised $48,496.

Billings also has an extra $9,740 from in-kind donations, boosting his total contributions to $74,165.

His largest contributor is former Springville Mayor Hal Wing, who donated $10,000.

For his part, Bailey's biggest single contribution is $13,000 from a group called "Provo firefighters." Bailey is a retired fire captain.

Though Billings has raised more money than Bailey, both have spent about the same amount up to Tuesday's filing deadline. Billings has spent $46,188, leaving him with a balance of $18,234, while Bailey has spent $45,473 and has a balance of $3,023.

In the race for Provo's citywide council seat, former Mayor George Stewart has raised $23,476 while opponent Mark Sumsion has raised $19,197.
