Mower's face became familiar to Utahns during the reconstruction of Interstate 15. He was spokesman for Wasatch Constructors. Before joining the governor's office, Mower worked as Provo's community and government relations director.
Earlier this week, the governor appointed Ashdown to replace current Chief of Staff Jason Chaffetz, who plans to return to private sector work next month. Ashdown's assistant, Anna Atwater, will work as a policy coordinator in the governor's office.
