ROY - City Councilman Dave Tafoya gained two votes for mayor in Thursday's recount of the primary election ballots, but it wasn't enough to change the result. The race in the Nov. 8 general election remains between Joe Ritchie, who had 647 votes, and Brent Saxton, who had 516. Tafoya ended up with 503 votes after the recount. City Manager Chris Davis said four more ballots were counted in the recount than in the preliminary count. They included a provisional ballot, an absentee ballot and two from a district that had not be properly tabulated. Tafoya had requested the recount. - Kristen Moulton
