Huntsville native Roger I. Price has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Orrin Hatch. Price is running as a member of the Personal Choice party.
According to his campaign Web site, http://www.rogeriprice.com, he is against the Iraq war, the United Nations and the public education system, which he called "a training ground for subservient, obedient, bureaucratic servants."
Price has an uphill political fight. Hatch is seeking his sixth Senate term. He faces an intraparty challenge from state Rep. Steve Urquhart, R-St. George. Pete Ashdown, CEO of the Internet provider XMission, is the Democratic challenger.
