West Valley City is holding a meet-the-candidates night at 7 tonight at City Hall, 3600 S. Constitution Blvd. The five contenders in the at-large City Council race - Barbara Thomas (incumbent), David J. Allen, Jeremy Castellano, Mario Cisneros and Mike Winder - will participate in a debate moderated by Chamber West CEO Alan Anderson. Other candidates also will be introduced, including incumbent Mayor Dennis Nordfelt, who is challenged by political newcomer Adam Leffler. In the District 4 council race, incumbent Steve Vincent faces off with Lynn Sanderson. Incumbent Councilman Joel Coleman is running unopposed in District 2.
