The commission authorized $3 million from the Mountain Corridor Conservation Fund to be spent on acquiring 25 acres near Saratoga in Utah County. The proposed Mountain View Corridor would run from Interstate 80 in western Salt Lake County south to Interstate 15 in Utah County near Lehi or Pleasant Grove.

Commissioners were told the property has been approved for development, but that the owner is willing to listen to an offer by UDOT.

l State Rep. Mike Noel asked for support from the commission in the ongoing struggle between Kane County and Bureau of Land Management over designation of road ownership in the county. He accused the news media of saying the law regulating road ownership expired in the 1860s when it was in place until 1976. He said public access to the roads is essential to the area's economy.

He also reiterated that he considers defiance of the federal government by the county commission as the work of "patriots."

The commission was not sure how or what it could do, but would consider the request.
