WASHINGTON - Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, whose daughter recently died from a rare form of cancer, is joining with several high-profile celebrities and politicians to post online comments on health-care issues on Yahoo!'s new "Blog for Hope" forum. Cannon writes in his first Web log, or blog, entry that he, like others, is "no stranger to what cancer can do to a patient and her family." "My knowledge is hard won, having been earned standing with loved ones as they fought this disease," he continues. The forum, found at http://health.yahoo.com, includes Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, news anchor Sam Donaldson, figure skater Peggy Fleming and actress Fran Drescher among others. Those involved plan to write weekly postings until mid-September about health issues. Readers can also respond with comments or ask questions. Cannon's daughter, Rachel, died at age 25 on Dec. 30 of clear cell sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that attacks tendons and connective tissue in the joints. - Thomas Burr
