St. George police were searching Thursday for a man whose robbery attempt Tuesday was thwarted when the would-be victim produced a gun instead of money. The man had just cashed a check at E-Z Cash, 880 E. St. George Blvd., just before 2 p.m. when the robber flagged him down, said police Lt. David Moss. When the man stopped his car, the robber approached, placed a knife to the man's throat and demanded money. The man, who has a concealed weapons permit, said he would get the money but grabbed a gun instead and pointed it at the robber, who then took off, Moss said.
