What the transportation bill means for Utah

Utah will get $1.8 billion from the federal government over the next four years toward highway and transit projects, including a $200 boost for commuter rail along the Wasatch Front and money to expand segments of Interstate 15. In addition to commuter rail funding, projects included are:

$12.0 for improving 1300 East in Sandy

$10.5 for I-15 reconstruction at the Springville 200 South interchange

$8.5 to widen Redwood Road from Saratoga Springs to Bangerter Highway

$8.0 to reconstruct South Moore Cut-off Road in Emery County

$6.0 for Forest Street improvements in Brigham City

$6.0 for a road linking I-15 to Provo Municipal Airport

$5.5 to construct Parleys Creek Trail in Salt Lake City

$5.0 to help reconfigure rail lines on Salt Lake City's west side

$5.0 for the Provo Reservoir Canal Trail; $1 million, paid over two years, for a Provo-Orem bus rapid transit study

$4.0 to improve pedestrian and traffic safety in Holladay

$4.0 to increase lane capacity on bridge over Virgin River in Washington

$3.5 for I-15 reconstruction in Salt Lake County

$3.0 for construction of Mid-valley highway in Tooele County

$3.0 to improve Santa Clara Drive in Santa Clara

$3.0 for 200 East in Logan City

$3.0 for the 3200 South Project in Cache County's Nibley

$2.5 for improving I-15 into Davis County and coordinating commuter rail

$2.5 for State Street reconstruction project 10600 to 9400 South

$2.1 for State Road 158 improvements near Pine View Dam in Weber County

$1.5 to reconstruct Moab's 500 West, including pedestrian and bicycle access

$.5 to construct a pedestrian safety project on the Navajo Nation in Montezuma Creek

$.5 to add lights to road from Halchita to Mexican Hat in the Navajo Nation

$.4 to add lighting on State Route 262 on the Navajo Nation in Aneth
