Logan developer Randy Watts announced he is running for mayor and said it was a coincidence that he applied for Doug Thompson's job on Tuesday - the day before the current mayor's surprise announcement that he won't seek re-election. "I hadn't visited with Doug," Watts said Wednesday. A life-long resident of Logan, Watts was an interim City Council member for four months in 2003. Deadline for filing is July 15, and Logan City Recorder Lois Price said Watts is the only person who has done so.
