Salt Lake City is turning the battle of the bumper stickers into a fund-raiser. Mayor Rocky Anderson spent $1,025 from his city budget to create 1,000 bumper stickers with the message "I Love Salt Lake City

Proceeds from the sale of this bumper sticker will benefit the city's environmental programs.

Salt Lake City!" He's selling them for $2 ($3 if delivered by mail).

The stickers have an environmental message - the heart is green and the background is a blue sky with white clouds.

Proceeds will benefit the city's environmental programs. They can be purchased at City Hall. For more information call 801-535-7704.

The bumper stickers come after Davis County commissioners handed out "I ยค Davis County" stickers to counter Anderson's State of the City speech. The mayor's comments blasting automobile commuting and the proposed Legacy Highway have riled Davis County residents, who believe Anderson was picking on them.
