Legislators honored one of Utah's top law enforcement officials on Monday, passing a resolution to laud the late Jade Pusey, who oversaw criminal investigations for the Attorney General's Office.
Pusey, who died Jan. 29 at 32 of a rare form of cancer, chaired the Utah Law Enforcement Legislative Committee.
In the resolution, lawmakers credited his and all law enforcement officials for their dedication to their jobs and expressed sympathies to Pusey's family and friends.
Attorney General Mark Shurtleff said Pusey served the state's residents with honor.
"He was always respectful and did his job very well," Shurtleff said. "He was so good and so forward looking. . . . It was a great loss."
The resolution passed unanimously in both chambers.
