Who said Republicans don't have a sense of humor?

Rep. Jim Ferrin objected Thursday to one House Education Committee colleague's argument for unity among school community council members.

"I'm not sure unity of opinion produces the best results," the Orem Republican said. "That would be like having one party in the Legislature."

The audience and committee members roared.

"At least we have brevity," said Democratic Rep. Carol Spackman Moss of Holladay.
