The Central Utah Correctional Facility was placed on lockdown Saturday after an inmate was stabbed in what prison officials are calling a gang-related attack. Educational and vocational programs were suspended through Tuesday and visits to the Gunnison facility are expected to be suspended through today. The victim, who was stabbed in the neck and torso, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and returned to the facility. Meanwhile, Corrections officers have been going cell to cell looking for weapons, according to Corrections spokesman Jack Ford. Ford said the victim has not been cooperating with investigators, who nonetheless have "at least one suspect" in the attack. Ford said suspect will be moved to the maximum-security wing. - Matthew D.
