Peter Corroon is making strides on his vow to improve communication.

Salt Lake County's mayor-elect has selected two people, not one, for an inter-governmental affairs slot. The idea: increase the flow of information.

Nichole Adams, the county Democratic Party's second-term chairwoman, will handle the posts' state and local issues. And Rob Jeppsen, acting Mayor Alan Dayton's communications manager, will oversee federal relations. Both will earn between $65,000 and $75,000 and will be instrumental in preparing Corroon's legislative agenda.

Meantime, Corroon has rewarded Sheryl Ivey, who managed his campaign and also Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson's 2003 campaign, with an administrative assistant position. The jobs will begin after Monday's inauguration.
