Jim Braden, a public relations specialist for Salt Lake County and one of the few Democrats appointed by Mayor Nancy Workman, has been retained by Mayor-elect Peter Corroon as the county's chief public information officer. Friday's appointment follows the naming of Karen Suzuki-Okabe as deputy mayor and Doug Willmore as chief administrative officer. Braden has spent a dozen years in public relations roles for Salt Lake County, including parks and recreation. Before that, he worked for the Utah Department of Transportation and in news radio in Salt Lake City and northern California. "I look forward to working in the Corroon administration, and I think there's a lot of work to do and a lot of confidence to be restored in the executive office," Braden said. - Derek P. Jensen
