Gov.-elect Jon Huntsman Jr. made another addition to his staff Wednesday, tapping an assistant U.S. Attorney for Utah to be his general counsel. Huntsman announced that Michael S. Lee will become his staff attorney on Jan. 3; he is the incoming governor's seventh top appointment so far. Lee, 33, is a graduate of Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark law school and he previously worked for the Washington, D.C., office of the law firm Sidley & Austin. He represented a wide range of corporate, nonprofit and government clients in cases before appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, according to the Huntsman transition team. "Mike is an exceptional talent with a deep understanding and respect for the law," Huntsman said in a statement. "The state of Utah will be well served by Mike's talents and exper- ience." Lee, who lives in Cedar Hills, is the son of the late Rex Lee, a former BYU president who served for a time as U.S. solicitor general. Huntsman previously appointed Chief of Staff Jason Chaffetz, two public relations officials, an economic development adviser, an executive assistant and two budget and policy staffers. - Thomas Burr
