Former first lady Norma Matheson is stumping for her second son.
Normally a behind-the-scenes presence in son Scott Jr.'s campaign for governor and Jim's run for a third term in Congress, Matheson recorded a phone message for the incumbent congressman played in a phone call campaign.
"This is an important election year with so much at stake for our state," Matheson says in the recording for Utah voters. "Jim was raised in a family that taught honor, integrity and service to community. And I'm proud of the way he's taken those lessons to Congress."
Jim Matheson is embroiled in a nasty race with Republican challenger John Swallow.
