The wrongdoings alleged today by the prosecutors' panel are untrue. In regard to the Boys and Girls Clubs I hid nothing, I did nothing wrong, and I certainly received no personal or monetary gain . . .

My daughter did not receive any personal benefit. The only organization that benefited was the Boys and Girls Club. It was my intent to help the Boys and Girls Club, and that is who we helped. As for "hiding" a "ghost employee," if I had been hiding anything, why would I have signed the time sheets myself? That fact alone should indicate how ridiculous these charges really are.

I have always admitted that we could have been more thorough in following bureaucratic procedure. . . . If the [district attorney] feels clerical errors or omissions in coming to the aid of this worthy charitable organization merit criminal charges, then I look forward to being exonerated in court. . . .

It is regrettable that so many precious resources would be used for someone's political agenda...

Some will say that the prosecutors' panel is bipartisan, and therefore impartial and nonpolitical. But they acted solely on information provided by David Yocom and his partisan investigators...

I regret that in the end the taxpayers will be forced to pay thousands of dollars for me to defend these groundless charges. It is sad that our legal system can be abused in this fashion, but if the Democrat district attorney elects to press charges, I take heart in the fact that my day will come in court and I will be fully vindicated.
