Fresno, Calif. » Turns out, college football games are 60 minutes long. That's too bad for Utah State, which took a 27-17 lead at halftime but was held scoreless in the final 30 minutes and lost 31-27 to Fresno State on Saturday.

The Aggies racked up 363 yards of offense in the first half and just 140 in the second half. Though there were no turnovers to hamper their efforts, the Bulldogs got key stops on critical plays to stop Utah State drives in the second half.

Utah State kicker Chris Ulinski helped Fresno State as well. Ulinski missed field goals from 32 and 31 yards to keep the Aggies off the scoreboard.

Diondre Borel threw for 240 yards and rushed for 105 for Utah State (2-6, 1-3 WAC). Robert Turbin rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Utah State scored 17 straight points in the final 5:02 of the second quarter to lead 27-17 at halftime.

Turbin and Borel had 1-yard touchdown runs, and Ulinski added a field goal as time expired in the first half.

But Fresno State roared back in the second half. Ryan Mathews rushed for 185 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown with 4:53 remaining to give the Bulldogs a win. Quarterback Ryan Colburn added 256 passing yards and a touchdown. USU has a 1-3 record in the Western Athletic Conference. The Aggies have lost by a combined total of 10 points.
