Travelers who have always wanted to learn how to kayak in whitewater might want to consider attending free clinics May 10 and 11 that will be part of the fifth annual Reno River Festival, scheduled May 9-11 on the Truckee River Whitewater Park in downtown Reno. Different Strokes Kayaking offers courses from beginner level to advanced, as well as classes for those with mobility and sight impairments. The festival includes open and professional competitions, the Run Amuck fun run, street rapids, mountain-bike speed trials, an outdoor-products expo, concerts, food and a beer garden.
