The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting an exhibit called California Car Design through Feb. 7, which tells the stories of automobiles designed in California.

Vehicles on display at the museum will include a 1919 Pierce Arrow with a Don Lee body designed by General Motors' Harley Earl; America's first post World War II sports car, the 1947 Kurtis Omohundro; the 1950 Oldsmobile Polynesian built by Valley Custom; and such vehicles as the 2009 Honda FC Sport concept car designed in California.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The museum also features "The Sounds of Speed" through Nov. 8, a craft and folk art exhibit, and an exhibit called "The Misfits of Motordom."
