Utah The Complete Ski & Snowboard Guide
Michael R. Fine, 200-page paperback, $21.95, The Countryman Press
Before plunking down hard-earned money for a book on Utah skiing, the big question a buyer must ask is: what can I find in this publication that can't be found in the free ski guide available in Utah each year?
The answer in this case is mostly good color photos and a bit more detail than might be found in the guide. While the subtitle claims the book "includes alpine, nordic, telemark skiing and other winter sports," information on anything but resort skiing is pretty sparse.
It's mostly a book about Utah's 13 developed resorts.
Avid local skiers may not find much new here, though the color photos are nice.
