Unified Police detectives are saying a hatchet- and knife-wielding robber has held up yet another Salt Lake Valley business.

And the robber — a white adult male adult, wearing a puffy jacket, jeans and a red bandana over his face — didn't stray far from his first robbery, hitting a Taco Bell restaurant about 10 p.m. Sunday that was just across the street from the 7-Eleven store he is believed to have hit on April 11.

UPD Lt. Brian Lohrke said the man came into the Taco Bell, the hatchet in one hand and knife in the other. He put the knife to the neck of a female employee, demanded and received cash, and then ran away southbound.

UPD officers, aided by police dogs, set up a containment area and searched for the robber, but lost track of him about a block away.

Detectives speculate the robber jumped into a getaway car to make his escape.

The employee was not injured.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call UPD at 801-799-3000.
