Police, firefighters and hazmat personnel rushed to the scene of a rollover crash Friday morning in southwest Salt Lake City.

Public safety dispatchers recorded the accident at 7:17 a.m. near Directors Row (1100 South) and Gladiola Street (3400 West). The car's male driver was extricated from the wreckage and taken to the Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition.

The cause of the accident was under investigation, but Salt Lake City police Detective Richard Chipping said it appeared the man ran a red light ad T-boned by another vehicle and then rolled.

At least two other people, less seriously injured, also were taken to the hospital.

The initial hazardous materials callout was precautionary. Police said there was nothing hazardous spilled as a result of the crash.

The accident scene had been cleared and traffic resumed by 10:30 a.m.
