A 4-year-old girl has died from extensive injuries she suffered in a Nov. 7 crash in Taylorsville.

UPD Detective Ken Hansen confirmed the child's death on Friday, but did not immediately release her identity.

A 3-year-old boy also hurt in the head-on crash with a pickup truck near 1350 West and 5400 South was in serious condition and expected to recover.

United Police said the accident occurred when a woman driving east on 5400 South inexplicably drifted into westbound traffic, where her car collided with the pickup, driven by a 72-year-old man.

Both the mother and the pickup driver suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remained under investigation.
