A teenage moped rider died of his injuries late Monday night after colliding with an SUV in Kearns.
Public safety dispatchers say the accident occurred at 11:16 p.m. near the intersection of 5600 West and 5600 South.
Unified Police said that the 18-year-old victim, Landen Parker Hickmon, of Herriman, was not wearing a helmet when he collided with the SUV. Hickmon reportedly was attempting to make a left-hand turn into a residential area when the SUV pulled into his path.
The teen was rushed to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in extremely critical condition, and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
No citations were issued, but the accident remained under investigation. UPD Lt. Lex Bell said.
