The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal weekend motorcycle accident in Wasatch County.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce confirmed on Monday that Douglas L. Bowles, 56, of Fruitland, was killed when his bike crashed into a guardrail on Highway 40 about 4 p.m. Sunday.

Troopers said Bowles was eastbound near mile marker 31 when he apparently lost control on a curve while passing another vehicle, hit the right-side guardrail and died at the scene.

UHP said Bowles was not wearing a helmet.
