A 26-year-old man was killed late Friday when he was struck by an SUV as he was crossing the street at 3900 South and State Street.

Michael T. Andrews, who lived in the Millcreek area, was in or near a crosswalk but might have been walking against the light, Detective Ken Hansen said.

The accident, which occurred about 11 p.m., is under investigation.

Hansen noted that because the weather is warmer, more people are outside after dark. He encouraged drivers to slow down and pedestrians to wear reflective clothing at night.
