Police on Monday arrested a suspect in the Salt Lake City beating death that occurred Easter Sunday.

Officers arrested Robert Carlos Munoz, 29, in Taylorsville, said Salt Lake City police Lt. Craig Gleason.

Munoz was wanted in connection to the death of Michael Ramirez, 28, whose body was found April 5 at 1267 W. 900 South. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and seeing Munoz leaving the scene about a half hour before police found Ramirez's body.

But Ramirez was not shot but beaten by Munoz, officers said.

Investigators believe Munoz and Ramirez knew each other but have not elaborated on a possible motive.
