St. George • A woman was killed after the car she was driving hit a traffic light pole Sunday afternoon in St. George.

Police Sgt. Craig Harding says the woman was riding alone and sped through an intersection before slamming into the pole.

He told The Spectrum of St. George that investigators are trying to determine whether a medical problem or other impairments contributed to the accident.

The woman's name and age were not immediately released.

She was wearing a seat belt.
