A Tremonton man was killed Christmas Eve in a rollover accident on Interstate 15 near Brigham City.

The accident occurred just after 5 p.m., a Utah Highway Patrol report said.

Ruon Meas, 34, was northbound in a sport utility vehicle when he appears to have drifted out of the far right freeway lanes, hitting the rumble strips. Meas then overcorrected to the left, crossing the highway to an inside emergency lane before making a second overcorrection to the right, UHP said. After crossing the highway the second time, Meas' vehicle rolled at least four times and went down an embankment before coming to rest in a farm field about 100 feet from the road.

Meas was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Brigham City Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, UHP said.

An initial investigation found no signs that Meas was impaired or distracted, the UHP report states. Meas was wearing a seat belt.
