Soccer: South Dakota State blanks SUU

The South Dakota State women's soccer team defeated Southern Utah 3-0 Sunday in a Summit League game in Brookings, S.D.

The teams combined for only 19 shots in the game.

SDSU's Courtney Higgins scored in the 25th minute, and the Jackrabbits (9-6-2, 6-2-0 Summit League) added two goals in the second half.

Goalkeeper Breana Fitzgerald had seven saves for the Thunderbirds (3-12-2, 1-5-1).

Portland State 2, Weber State 0 » In Portland, Ore., Weber State (6-10-0, 2-4-0 Big Sky) was outshot 25-7 in the loss to the first-place Vikings (10-6-2, 4-1-1). Dolly Eneking scored her school-record 11th goal of the season in the 50th minute to open the scoring for Portland State.

Carroll 2, Westminster 1 » In Helena, Mont., Corie Walch put Westminster ahead 1-0 in the 19th minute as she scored on an assist from Nicole Taylor, but the Griffins (8-9-1, 3-2-1 Frontier Conference) gave up two second-half goals.
