Ogden • Idaho State is on the Weber State basketball schedule only twice this season — really.

But for the third night this season, Weber State took on the Bengals. After a road game that was postponed and then finished on Wednesday, the Wildcats completed a season sweep with Friday night's 96-74 win.

"What we've been through the last eight days has been really difficult — a long road trip to North Dakota and Northern Colorado. We ended up staying in four different hotels in four nights," said Wildcats coach Randy Rahe, whose team played two home games in the past month before Friday.

The first time the 'Cats and Bengals played was Jan. 7, but that game at Idaho State ended early because of a leaky roof at Holt Arena. The contest resumed Wednesday at a different site in Pocatello, with the Wildcats winning by 12 points.

"Obviously, with the change of the game at Idaho State, that just adds another road trip," Rahe said. "I challenged our guys. We might have been a little tired, but we weren't going to let that slow us down."

Coming home, Weber State (12-7, 7-1) maintained its first-place position in the Big Sky Conference by racing away from Idaho State (3-17, 1-7) in the second half.

Jeremy Senglin lead the Wildcats with 24 points. Guard Jerrick Harding, who has eight stitches near his right eye after a collision on Wednesday, added 22 points.

"I'm a tough guy," Harding said.

Idaho State, led by Ethan Telfair's 21 points, made the score 51-47 three minutes into the second half on a bucket by Novak Topalovic.

The response was quick from the home team as a pair of Senglin free throws kicked off a 14-1 run. That streak included five consecutive points by junior guard Ryan Richardson, then seven consecutive points by Harding.

"He can score at every level — threes, the rim, in-between, free throws. But the thing about Jerrick that I like the most is that he's just got unflappable confidence," said Rahe. "Misses don't bother him. He's just got that mentality that 'I can score and I can score on anybody.' "

Ten of Weber State's remaining games are at home.

"Now we can give our guys two full days off. They need to stay the heck out of the gym, get fresh minds, fresh bodies — we've got a lot of rehab to do," Rahe said. Weber State 96, Idaho State 74
