Ogden • It was milestone night at the Dee Events Center for Weber State on Saturday.

The evening included the jersey retirement of all-time leading scorer Bruce Collins.

And a 87-78 win over Portland State marked the 200th career coaching victory for Randy Rahe — which also made him, with 124 wins in the Big Sky, the all-time leader in conference history.

As for current events, it also kept the Wildcats on pace with Montana at the top of the Big Sky standings.

"Offensively, we were pretty good tonight. But when our defense wasn't working right, we just had to go find a way to win," Rahe said. "You have to make just enough plays down the stretch to win and that's what we did."

Weber State (18-7, 10-2) was on target early.

Big man Joel Bolomboy added to his long list of double-doubles by scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 points — and he started the night by swishing a 3-pointer. Bolomboy kicked off an early stretch which saw Jeremy Senglin, who finished with a game-high 24 points, can three 3-pointers.

When Ryan Richardson popped a pair of 3-pointers late in the first half, Weber had a 43-29 victory.

"The shots were falling, it was nice to see. Everybody's shot dropped," Senglin said. "It was nice to see, especially after the last game."

Senglin's night also included a pair of twisting layups in traffic five minutes into the second half as the Wildcats kept Portland State (8-15, 4-8) at a double-digit deficit.

The Vikings, however, made a late run. Following a 7-0 run, Portland made the score 71-68 with 4:30 left in the game.

Bolomboy, who had been sitting with four fouls, reentered and hit a turnaround 12-foot jumper. The Wildcats held a three-point advantage until Senglin scored on a baseline jumper for to bring the score to 78-73.

"They're talented. They've got two all-league players and they [Senglin and Bolomboy] stepped up and had 24 and 19," Portland State coach Tyler Geving said. "I thought Richardson was tough for them in the first half. Fighting back from 14 made it harder."

Cameron Forte had 17 points for the Vikings while Calaen Robinson and Donivine Steward respectively added 15 and 12 for the visitors.

At the end of the game, Senglin and his Weber State teammates presented Rahe with the game ball for his coaching milestones achieved on this night.

"When he came in [to the locker room], we had the game ball," Senglin said. "He said, 'What's this for?'"

"God love 'em," Rahe said. "I've been blessed. I've had just outstanding kids to coach in my 10 years here." —
