Ogden • After getting its first win of the season, Weber State opens Big Sky Conference play Saturday at Northern Colorado.

The Wildcats started the year with losses at Oregon State (26-7) and four-time FCS national champion North Dakota State (41-14).

Last week, however, the Wildcats rolled to a 32-14 victory over Sacramento State. The Hornets are Big Sky members, but the game did not count in the standings because of the league's unbalanced scheduled.

"Our guys responded well,"said Weber coach Jay Hill. "We didn't play our best game. But we came out with good juice — good passion."

Northern Colorado is 2-1 overall, but last week the Beats dropped a 30-3 decision at Southern Utah in their conference opener. —
