Ogden • Eric Wilkes ran for 37 yards and a touchdown Saturday, leading the White team to a 14-7 victory over the Purple team in Weber State's annual spring game at Stewart Stadium.

Wilkes, a sophomore from Las Vegas, ran 12 yards for his touchdown. Riley Bradshaw, a redshirt freshman from Meridian, Idaho, then found Jordan Ozosky with a 17-yard touchdown pass to give White a 14-0 lead at halftime.

The Purple team scored its only touchdown in the fourth quarter, when Spencer Unga ran into the end zone from the two.

For the victorious White team, quarterback Chad Leckington completed 5 of 8 passes for 53 yards.

Jadrian Clark, a part-time starter last season, ran for 99 yards and passed for 34 more to lead the Purple offense. Unga finished with 50 yards on eight carries, and Cody McKague caught four passes for 25 yards.

On defense, freshman Karsen Lilenquist led all players with 11 tackles for the White team. Felix Woods and Likio Pope each had seven tackles.

"We held out a few of our starters … but, overall, we made an improvement over last year's spring game," said Weber State coach Jay Hill. "The defense looked great and really made some hard hits. There were times we were also able to run the ball well. We have to continue to make strides during the summer, but I like the personnel we have in place and the progression we have made from last year."

Weber State opens the 2015 season on Sept. 4 at Oregon State, which is coached by Gary Andersen. He was a defensive coordinator at Utah and head coach at Utah State and Wisconsin.
