Norman, Okla. • Weber State played Oklahoma for the first time in school history on Monday night.

The Sooners likely made an unforgettable impression.

Oklahoma set an NCAA record by scoring 39 straight points in the first half and cruised to an 85-51 victory over the Wildcats at the Lloyd Noble Center.

The Sooners owned a 10-4 lead before starting their 39-point run. They broke the previous Division I record of 37 straight points, which Utah State set against Idaho on Feb. 15, 2006.

"We were run over by a really good, veteran basketball team tonight," said Weber State coach Randy Rahe. "We couldn't get anything done against them. We couldn't handle the pressure and couldn't make any shots in the first half."

After building a 49-4 lead, the 19th-ranked Sooners settled for a 51-12 halftime advantage. They shot 68.8 percent from the field. The 12 points were the fewest in a half by an Oklahoma opponent since Texas A&M managed 10 during the 2007-08 season.

Meanwhile, Weber State went 3-for-22 from the field and committed 17 turnovers in the first half. The Wildcats scored eight of their 12 points in the final 1:52.

Chris Golden finished with 12 points to lead Weber State. Joel Bolomboy contributed nine points and 12 rebounds and freshman Ryan Richardson scored a season-high eight points.

For Oklahoma, Sophomore guard Jordan Woodard and junior forward Ryan Spangler, a transfer from Gonzaga, each scored 15 points.

The Sooners have now won 107 of their last 111 non-conference home games. The only visiting teams to beat OU during the 15-year stretch are Stephen F. Austin (twice), Villanova and Louisiana Tech. —
