Ute center Jakob Poeltl earned his first Pac-12 player of the week honor on Monday after a big weekend at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off .

In Utah's first four games, the 7-foot center averaged 19.5 points on 64 percent shooting and 9.5 rebounds as the Utes won three of their first four.

Poeltl recorded a pair of double-doubles, the first a 15-point, 11-rebound effort in a victory over San Diego State. He just missed another double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds against Texas Tech in Utah's Puerto Rico opener, and added 16 points and six boards against eventual tourney champion Miami (Fla.).

Poeltl was at his best on Sunday against Temple, scoring a career-high 32 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, plus three blocks and two steals to lead the Utes to victory and a third place finish in the tournament.
