Utah State junior Ngor Barnaba will be leaving the men's basketball program. The university confirmed on Monday that the 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward had been granted a release from his scholarship.

Last week, the website VerbalCommits.com listed Barnaba among its annual list of Division I transfers.

Barnaba, who played his first two collegiate seasons at Missouri State-West Plains, played in 24 games (three starts) and averaged 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. He played 11.5 minutes per game and shot 32.5 percent from the floor (27-for-83 overall and 7-for-37 on 3-pointers).

The Aggies figure to have increased competition for playing time in the frontcourt next season despite the graduation of all-conference and NABC and USBWA all-district honoree Jalen Moore. Forwards Alexis Dargenton (31 games, 22 starts), Norbert Janicek (31 games, 27 starts) and Quinn Taylor (31 games, eight starts) each started at times for the Aggies this past season, and all three are slated to return.

The Aggies also redshirted two a pair of freshmen forwards in 6-foot-9 forward Klay Stall from Arizona, and 6-7 wing Deron Henson from California. ESPN ranked both Stall and Henson as three-star recruits coming out of high school.

In November, the Aggies signed junior college small forward Dwayne Brown. Brown averaged 13.8 points per game on 50.8 percent shooting (40.2 percent on 3-pointers) and 7.3 rebounds per game this winter for Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa.
