Former Brighton High star Osa Masina, now a linebacker at USC, will not play in Saturday's game against Utah State, according to coach Clay Helton.

Masina has been named in a Los Angeles Police Department warrant as a suspect in two sexual assault investigations — one in L.A. and one in Utah.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

Masina, a sophomore, did not play in the Trojans' 52-6 loss at Alabama last week. He continues to practice with the team.

"The university is allowing [him] to go to class, practice and meet," Helton told reporters.

Another USC linebacker, Don Hill, Trojan linebacker, has been named as a suspect in the alleged incident in Los Angeles. He did not play against Alabama and will not against Utah State.

Masina was a Salt Lake Tribune MVP and Max Preps second-team All-American as a senior at Brighton. During his freshman season at USC, he finished with 25 tackles. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown.
